This lecture will be dedicated to the story behind the IZOLYATSIA platform and how its territory, a former plant area, was seized by the militants of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic". It then underwent a forceful transformation from art space to a concentration camp which was documented by multiple eyewitness testimonies.

Mykhailo Hlubokyi, one of the founders of the IZOLYATSIA cultural platform, will tell us more about the art space and what happened after terrorists began to to occupy it. He will be joined by journalist Stanislav Aseyev who will delve deep into painful memories of his time in the IZOLYATSIA prison.

IZOLYATSIA is a cultural platform founded in 2010 on the territory of the former plant of insulating materials in Donetsk.

On June 9, 2014, it was captured by Russian militants of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. The Isolation cultural space itself moved to Kyiv after the seizure of territory in Donetsk, and its premises in occupied Donetsk became a concentration camp under the auspices of the Russian authorities.
