"I am not afraid, let them be afraid" - new exhibition plus book presentation plus movie screening

"I am not afraid, let them be afraid" - a new exhibition dedicated to the Belarusian Nobel Peace Prize winner Ales Bialacki

The exhibition highlights the work and life of the famous Belarusian human rights activist who has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on politically motivated grounds by the Lukashenka regime.

The event will be conducted in Belarusian, with English translation available.

About the project

The project dedicated to the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialacki is an exhibition about Ales Bialacki, the publication of a book, the creation of a series of programs, and a documentary film dedicated to the work and life of the famous Belarusian human rights activist. The project is aimed at popularizing the ideas of the struggle for truth, human rights, national culture, and the European vector of development of independent Belarus, which are fundamental in the work of Ales Bialacki and the Viasna Human Rights Center founded by him.

The main goal of the project is to present in the media the image and ideas of Ales Bialacki, his many years of efforts to develop and strengthen civil society in Belarus, develop national culture and protect human rights, bring modern Belarusian realities to a wide audience of global problems and achieve a reaction of international political structures to the situation. With the presence in the country of more than one and a half thousand political prisoners, as well as tens of thousands of people subjected to political repression for their beliefs.

Also, an important goal of the project is to convey truthful information about the figure of Ales Bialacki and the political motives of the trial of him and his fellow human rights activists to the population of Belarus.

About the exhibition

The exhibition is dedicated to the Nobel Peace Prize winner Ales Bialacki and highlights the work and life of the famous Belarusian human rights activist.

The main goal of the exhibition is to present to the media the image and ideas of Ales Bialacki, his many years of work on the development and strengthening of civil society in Belarus, the development of national culture, and the protection of human rights, to convey modern Belarusian realities to a wide audience global problems and achieve a reaction of international political structures to the situation. With the presence in the country of more than 1,500 political prisoners, as well as tens of thousands of people subjected to political repression for their beliefs.

Another important goal of the exhibition is to convey to the population of Belarus truthful information about the personality of Ales Bialacki and the political motives of the trial of him and his fellow human rights activists.

  • 18:30 - 18:40 - Introduction to the movie about the life of Ales Bialaсki by filmmaker Butsko Yury.
