Born 1958, PhD in cultural studies, writer, historian, journalist, filmmaker. Co-founder of the Independent Self-governing Societies in Białystok. He was awarded the Freedom Cross 2021 and is a founder of the Looking for Poland Association and the Association of the Museum of Białystok Jews. Creator of the Film, Sound and Photography Workshop in Michałowo. Winner of the main POLIN Prize, Zygmunt Gloger Prize, Kurier Poranny journalist of the year, Rzeczpospolita Dariusz Fikus Prize for the best reportage, Foundation for the Development of Local Democracy. Publications in Polityka, Rzeczpospolita, Newsweek. In a private TV Bialystok he made, among others, the last film about President Ryszard Kaczorowski. Scholarship holder of, among others, the President of Warsaw, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and the Marshal of Podlaskie Voivodeship. Journalist of the Year for Kurier Poranny.
