Closed Today - Instytut Pileckiego

For operational reasons, the Institute will be closed today (25.10)

Saturday: closed. Thursday: exhibition opening!

The Institute will be closed on Saturday for operational reasons. We’ll be back for you on Sunday – and on Thursday, we’ll meet at 7 p.m. for the long-awaited opening of our new exhibition “Plantstory: A Narrative about Architecture, Nature, and National Socialist Colonial Policy.”

You can register for the opening on October 30 at 7 p.m. here:

The exhibition explores the history of a residential district in the Polish town of Ciechanów, built during the German occupation in the Second World War. Similar housing estates, colloquially known as Berlinki or poniemieckie (“formerly German”), can still be found in many Polish towns today. The exhibition’s curator and architect, Barbara Nawrocka, examines this architectural legacy through the lens of nature and landscape, revealing how plant life, history, politics, and collective memory intertwine.
