4.) The Soviet House - Instytut Pileckiego

The Soviet House, officially known as the House of Soviet Science and Culture in Berlin, opened on July 5, 1984. The construction of this building, spanning seven floors and covering 29,000 square meters, was completed in three years. It remains the largest Russian cultural institute worldwide. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the building was transferred to the Russian government. The network of Russian houses worldwide is managed by Rossotrudnichestvo, an organization under sanctions due to its propaganda. Just like in Soviet times, this building served to glorify the regime and present a one-sided reality. The presence of this seven-level structure in the heart of Berlin, despite the city's housing shortage, and the activities held within the House, are further indications of the embodiment of the Soviet system.
